Northrop Grumman Presents Quality
Awards for Outstanding Supplier, Subcontractor Performance
March 29, 2005
Redondo Beach,
CA
Northrop Grumman
Corporation (NYSE: NOC) today presented awards to 40 suppliers
and 11 subcontractors for consistently demonstrating excellence
in product quality, delivery predictability, competitive pricing
and other value-added services.
The company's Space Technology sector
gave Gold awards to recognize many of the best companies in
the industry during its annual Supplier Recognition Conference.
Suppliers and subcontractors were recognized for having developed
and delivered a wide variety of complex parts, processes and
assemblies, from satellite buses to optical and radio-frequency
payloads and components.
"We depend on
our valued suppliers and subcontractors to help build the most
sophisticated space systems imaginable and the world's most
powerful high-energy lasers," said Mike McVey, sector vice president,
production and supply chain. "Our standards for these awards
become more stringent every year. This year's recipients have
shown a commitment to meeting or exceeding these requirements."
McVey noted
that many have undertaken improvement initiatives that match
Space Technology's process-driven business approach. "Our strategic
partnerships with the best companies in the industry give us
a key competitive advantage. These relationships give us the
ability to implement robust processes across all programs to
benefit our customers directly," he explained.
