Welcome to Millitech... at the leading edge of millimeter-wave technology
Millitech, Inc. specializes in the design, engineering and manufacturing of millimeter-wave components, assemblies, subsystems and fully integrated systems for applications in satellite communications, radiometry, radar and remote sensing. For over 25 years our engineering, manufacturing and sales staffs have been dedicated to providing the most technically advanced millimeter-wave products and services available, enabling our customers to translate their ideas and needs into cost-effective solutions.
Millitech was formed as a Massachusetts corporation in January, 1982 by Dr. G. Richard Huguenin. Dr. Huguenin directed Harvard's Space Radio Astronomy Program from 1963 until 1968 and founded the Five College Radio Astronomy Observatory at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1968.
In 1993 Millitech Corporation acquired the millimeter-wave product line from Hughes Aircraft Company. This acquisition nearly doubled the capability of Millitech's catalog product line and effectively made Millitech the foremost manufacturer of millimeter-wave components, assemblies, and systems. Virtually every millimeter-wave product is offered either as a standard product or as a custom design built to specific requirements.
In 2005 Millitech became part of Smiths Interconnect, a leader in technically differentiated electronic and radio frequency products that connect, protect and control critical systems for the wireless telecommunications, aerospace, defense, space, medical, rail, test and industrial markets. Smiths Interconnect is part of Smiths Group , a world leader in applying advanced technologies for markets in threat and contraband detection, energy, medical devices, communications and engineered components. Smiths Group employs around 23,000 people in more than 50 countries.

Millitech's Quality Standards
Millitech is registered to AS9100:2009 Rev C, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 . Our Quality Management System has successfully supported military, space and commercial programs over the years and is a key strength behind our millimeter-wave product legacy.
Millitech's measuring and test equipment is controlled by an ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 compliant Calibration System. All electrostatic sensitive devices (ESD) are handled, packaged, and marked in accordance with MIL-STD-1686. Millitech also has the capability of soldering in accordance with ANSI/J-STD-001C and NASA-STD-8739.3.
Millitech's Quality Management System is incorporated into all of our business processes. The integration of Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing into our Quality System ensures product integrity from initial receipt of an inquiry, through design and manufacturing, to field support after shipment. Millitech has established processes that ensure our customer requirements and specifications are met or exceeded.
Millitech's Mission Statement
To establish Millitech as the leader in our industry by committing ourselves to the success of our customers, team members, and business associates through a continuous focus on integrity and excellence in everything we do.
Millitech has assembled a world class team of designers both internally and from the surrounding academic community. This, combined with an unparalleled level of experience in transitioning complex microwave and millimeter-wave systems into production positions the company to effectively monitor emerging applications, quickly develop prototypes, and rapidly transition those prototypes into product solutions that meet, and often exceed, the value and performance expectations of our customers.
We are dedicated to helping our customers achieve their quality, performance, and cost objectives. For over 25 years, our Millimeter-wave Products Division has had a reputation for providing the highest quality millimeter-wave products in the world. We offer the broadest selection of standard millimeter-wave components and assemblies in the 18 to 300 GHz range, and our extensive experience in advanced products and system design results in expertise in all millimeter-wave applications and products.
One of Millitech's unique strengths is the management of high-reliability programs. The ability to focus on all of the key elements and mission-critical goals of each program has led to a track record of success in commercial, military, and extraterrestrial applications. The company's accomplishments include programs such as Tarsier, FAB-T, MILSTAR, SWAS, SSMIS, EKV, and AMSU.
Millitech utilizes state-of-the-art software including HFSS, ADS, WASP, and GRASP, as well as our own modeling programs for antennas and Gaussian optics, which provide the capability to design a broad range of products such as miniaturized MMIC modules, integrated hybrid assemblies, phased arrays, and waveguide structures and networks. Depending on customer requirements, we are able to achieve quick turnaround time and smooth transitions to volume manufacturing for most designs.
For the past fifteen years, our Manufacturing Services Division has been providing contract manufacturing, assembly, and test services to the satellite communications industry. Having supplied thousands of RF components, antennas, satcom terminals, and test services to military and commercial programs, Millitech has established itself as a leader in the supply of microwave satellite ground and shipboard systems.
